I would pay for myself. I mean I dont mind doing that, but I probably wouldnt pay for him until we’ve been dating for a little minute. I dont expect him to cash out for everything. Lol If we’re at a movie Ill pay formyself and just dip in his popcorn

My Response:

I’m really glad you wrote this because you reminded me of another point I want to make. Specifically, when going out on a date (or even when you leave your house) you should always have enough money to pay for yourself and/or things. Be prepared for the unexpected. Like I said, a friend of mine went out on a first date and when the $90 bill came her date said he didn’t have his wallet. Luckily she had a credit card.

Also, like I mentioned before, if you’ve discussed ahead of time who’s going to pay and it’s decided you’ll split the cost of tickets or whatever it’s fine if a woman pays for something on the first date. But, if you haven’t talked about it the man should pay. If he’s a broke college student then he should have enough sense to plan a date that won’t cost much if anything. The first date is all about making a good impression and showing a woman you know how to step up and be a man… be chivalrous. A lot of you guys are young so this may not seem important to you now but believe me when I say it will be if you and the guy get serious and start talking about marriage.

So, I’m not saying you should dump him completely if he doesn’t pass this basic first test but you should be looking out for other warning signs if you guys continue to talk.

That’s all I’m sayin’
